The Cricket Umpires' Assn. of Central Florida (CUACF) is based in Orlando, Florida and was formed in 1997. Their members officiate mainly in matches sanctioned by the Central Florida Cricket Assn., Inc. (CFCA) and cover a wide area, spreading from the East (Palm Bay) to the West (Tampa) coasts of Central Florida. This frequently involves traveling distances of up to 80 miles one way to officiate.

Over the last few years the CUACF has made a concerted effort to recruit and train umpires locally. Our membership has grown to a total of fourteen (14), thirteen (13) of which have successfully completed the final USACUA written exam, with two (2) also passing the West Indies Board exams.

This achievement has been greatly facilitated by the dedicated guidance of our Training Officer, Mr. Michael Dixon, an internationally qualified umpire and a member of the Institute of Cricket Umpires and Scorers (ICUS). Mr. Dixon, who supervises and assigns some seventy two (72) umpires in the Liverpool (U.K.) League, splits his time evenly between Florida and the U.K. It is mainly through his training and guidance that visiting cricketers (Miami, New York, Chicago, Hartford, etc.) have consistently expressed their pleasure at participating in matches in Central Florida, citing the overall knowledge and impartiality of our members.
